The novelty of the bird has worn off. Now she’s just hard work. She’s a bit of a feather plucker but she came to me with most of her feathers in tack but on Tuesday she decided to start pulling some out. I couldn’t figure out what is wrong other than she wasn’t eating either. Last night I found that if I hand fed her she would eat so I stood there and shoved banana and scrambled egg down her. My gawd, what a spoiled thing. She rewarded me with loves and little purring noises but really, she’s a bird and I’m hand feeding her. This morning I got her out of her cage and fed her some banana and yams so at least I don’t have to worry about her not getting enough food. But mostly she just wants me to hold her – I think she’d be happy if I just held her all day. I know she doesn’t get that kind of treatment at home so I suspect that she is feeling a bit insecure and all with her parents gone. There were a bunch of feathers on the bottom of her cage this morning so the lack of eating wasn’t the only thing bothering.
Wah! I feel so bad. For her, me and her parents who are going to come back to a half nekkid bird.
