1. We survived another play of the prince’s. Yiipppeee. He doesn’t have to think about it again for two weeks. Huh? April 5th another rehearsal? What? Apparently they can’t let it get too rusty. Big sigh.
2. And because my son has to have something going on every minute and because his barbershop mentor wanted to form a quartet with the prince and two others, I have three men coming to my house tomorrow night to rehearse. The upside is that I don’t have to drive anywhere after we get home from school. The downside is I can’t get in my jammies at 6:00 pm.
3. The princess’ calendar said today was the first day of spring. I thought it was tomorrow or Tuesday but whatever!!!!! Yeah longer days!!!! Yeah more sunshine!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!
4. The princess and the bike. I was at Goodwill last week and found a bike that is bigger then her brother’s hand me down bike and more her size. It was just $20 and in great shape so I picked it up. The size is definitely better but the training wheels were driving her batty so she convinced her dad to take them off. They went to the school down the street to give her more room and apparently she did wonderfully although she still has trouble starting on her own. This is the note I received when I got home:Dear Mom,
I learned how to ride a bike today. I use [sic] to think that riding a bike wasn’t fun and I also thought that I didn’t want to do it for my whole life. I was wrong! Now all I want to do is ride ride ride. Dad didn’t even hold on most of the time! It is also pretty easy!
- Princess
riding bikes is fun!
Isn’t she just a dear? All this and I didn’t have to promise a trip to Disneyland (which is a great idea). Of course she really doesn’t completely know how to ride yet so we’ll see what she gets out of me before this process is done. I did promise to buy her a brand new PINK bike when she was still learning on her brother’s old bike but she likes her goodwill one just fine it seems.
5. Why on earth would I go to Ikea on a weekend?
