1. I wonder why I’m wide awake at 2 a.m. and fast asleep at 6 a.m.
2. I’m thankful that the current play my son is in is about to wrap up this weekend. That is, after he does a show on Wednesday night, two on Thursday, Friday night and two on Saturday. Whew.
3. I’m done saying ‘I’m so busy.’ I sick of being busy. I’m sick of talking about being busy. I’m sick of driving kids everywhere. I’m sick of whining about it. I’m sick of listening to me. I’m sick of the way we are busy as a competition – I’m so much busier than you. I wish I was done with busy but since that’s not likely to happen soon, I’m done talking about it.
4. I was doing well in January and early February with some goals I set. I got a doc appointment taken care of and was consistent with weekly meal planning and going to my yoga class. But the follow up sucks. I’ve now go to do a few more doc appointments (blood and the big M along with some x-rays on my teeth) and lord knows we could use a meal planned around here. I have kept up with yoga though so that is something. So my goals for today are to make three doc appointments and meal plan/shop for the rest of the week. I think I can manage that.
5. We had family in last weekend to see son’s show. More are coming in this weekend. I like that for the most part, everyone just stays a day or two. Makes it easier on me.
6. The prince has had a fabulous time with this particular production he’s in. It is a high school play so he is the youngest one there and the high schoolers have been wonderful to him (he’s kind of a pet to some of the girls). He’s doing extremely well in his performance too – it is amazing how much he’s improved since he first started doing this sort of thing. He could always sing but he now has really good control (thanks barbershop chorus) and is very consistent. He has also stepped it up a notch with acting too. I’m so glad we were able to find something he excels at and are able to foster that. Now I need to figure something out with the princess.
7. The prince loves the whole high school scene – the freedom mostly. He had to be there all day last Friday and he was amazed that he could eat his lunch where ever he wanted. His school is a bit controlling but then they have to be since they’ve got preschool to 8th grade there.
8. The princess can’t ride a bike. I wonder if there is a way to teach her without her ending up in tears and me ending up all frustrated and angry.
9. The bird is in my office and driving me crazy. He needs a bird playmate because I just don’t have time to deal with him much. I feel sorry for him and like to have him around when he makes cute bird sounds but when he starts screaming I think I’m going to open a door.
