Seen:
Walking down the little downtown area of my part of San Jose, four older ladies with bright purple shirts and big red hats. I know I’m tired of seeing the book and all things around the book but I’d never be tired of seeing older ladies actually wearing the garb. Made me feel good, it did.

Overheard:
By a woman looking for the non-religious stamps and being shown the Santa stamp. “I don’t believe in Santa.” Awe, that’s just kinda sad.

Told:
To me, from the prince. “mom, all the kids in my class want to hear me sing. I’m going to try to get my quartet together so we can sing for them.”

Brings me to tears, it does. The kids at his old school didn’t care what barbershop singing was, thought he was dumb for singing with a bunch of men and certainly didn’t want to hear it. I’m thankful daily that we moved him.

Thinking About:
How in the heck I’m going to manage tomorrow afternoon. Tuesdays are tough because we have to go from the kids’ school across town for the princess’ dance class in less than 30 minutes with the princess changing in the car and us barely making it. Normally, they’ve got back to back dance classes but if his dance class ends at 5:30 there is no way we can get him fed, dressed in tux and up to fancy pants outdoor mall (across town) by 6:00 (Tree lighting ceremony that his barbershop chorus is singing at). Hummm, guess his dance class will go….and we’ll still be pushing it. Ah ha. Drop princess off at 3:30, take prince home to change and clean up, pick princess back up at 4:30 with nicer clothes in hand, she can change in car on way to fancy pants shopping area, eat up there, prince is right on time for warm ups at 6:00. Whew, glad I figured that out.
