Well, the birthday party was pronounced a success. Thank the gods since her actual birthday was a bit of a bust (that’s what high expectations will do for you). I put some pictures of the party girls, including one with me in it (yikes) (and yes, that is my garage…more on that later) and a bunch of the princess. It was her day afterall. And she’s such a cutie, not that I’m partial or anything. For the record, her birthday cake was the Disney princesses. She doesn’t have this nickname for nothing.
Anyhow, regarding my garage. Doesn’t it look wonderful?? All the parents of the attending kids were amazed. And really, so was I. I’ve never had a garage all cleaned out like this. Of course, the contents of this garage are in the back yard and in the back room of the house. Maybe tomorrow I’ll post pics of those rooms (shudder). Anyhow, about a year ago I decided to turn the garage into a big kid play/hang out room and it seems to be a project that lasts forever. But in April we got the garage sheetrocked and attic space built. I’m not putting things in the attic, we’ve got to paint the walls and then move the rest of the stuff in or away completely (can you say many trips to the dump?). I was thinking on getting a futon or two, an old t.v. and maybe a foosball table and/or a ping pong table. Hopefully this would make the garage a fun place for the prince and his friends to hang out in. Who knows if it will actually be used for that or not but it sure would make my life a bit easier (and yes, it is all about me).
So there we have it, birthday weekend, cleaned out garage, house a mess, kids home from school for the summer, no big plans or camps, I’ve still got to work, a kid spending the night tonight, nothing on tap for tomorrow…just the usual.
