The kids and I went down to Santa Barbara last weekend. Now there’s a great place and each time I’m there I think I could move. Of course, once I get home all thoughts of actually moving quickly vanish. I’ve hardly recovered from the move to CA four years ago (righto, I don’t handle change well at all).The prince planned out his life while we were there. He’s going to go to UCSB for college and once he graduates he is going to get an apartment right across the road from the beach where he’ll live with his girlfriend until he decides to marry her. He didn’t mention how he was going to finance all this but he apparently was relieved to have it all worked out. “I’m so glad I’ve got my life all planned out, mom.” Whew.

And on the good news front, the prince has his first leading role!!!!! He is going to be Lion in The Wiz. It was such a joy to do the happy dance when the cast list was posted. And tonight when he got his script and was highlighting his lines, he kept saying over and over “oh mom, I’m so happy.” Love him. He’ll be a great Lion.

I just got the tickets to go to Dallas. Yiippeee!! We leave on the 29th for a week. I’m so excited. That will be just the kids and I going back to visit all our friends. The family trip will be a two week driving trip to Canada (with a stop to see a friend in Seattle! Oh and maybe one in Portland, too). While the summer plans are shaping up late, they are shaping up and I’m looking forward to it. Now I just have to arrange some camps to fill in a few long weeks with the kids and we are set.
