I do appreciate knowing that a. my son is right on target developmentally and b. my favorite parenting methods (saying yes to the crazy stuff so it looses its specialness cuz mom likes it and dragging my feet until the mood passes) are used by other moms as well.

I decided that if he mentions it again I¡¦ll take him to the store, let him go in by himself to buy the belt (no bullets) and just wait for him outside. If he wants to waste his money, fine. And maybe it won¡¦t be a waste to him. But that¡¦s my deal.

Of course his father may have a fit. But I¡¦ll just deal with that.

In other news, the princess has taken to leaving notes all around the house. They require a response. They say something like ¡§I love you mom very much. Who do you love?¡¨ and then an arrow pointing to several lines where I¡¦m supposed to ¡§anser [sic] here¡¨. Okay, now tell me that¡¦s not a loaded question. If I answer I love the princess she¡¦ll lord it over her brother for days on end that ¡¥mom likes me best¡¦. And since her brother already thinks that, her evil plot will drive him nuts. So I answer that I love my family. Yes, that would be me, taking the easy way out.

She left one for her brother a few weekends back after they¡¦d been apart all weekend. She said ¡§Dear prince Did you have a fun weekend? -----„³ anser here¡¨. He was all excited that he got a note so he answered her back with a yes.

In other other news, I still haven¡¦t gotten my network working again and my outlook is on the fritz. I hate computers.
